Yes. Navigate to the Dinner Page and click on "Check Availability" to reserve your spot. The Dinner experience is 5:45pm - 9:45pm.
No, lunch is a ski in - ski out situation. It is open from 11:00am - 2:00pm.
Regrettably, we are unable to accommodate late arrivals or early departures due to the limited availability of our resources. With only one sleigh and snow cat at our disposal, it is necessary for all participants to ascend and descend the mountain collectively.
While you will be seated with your party, depending on your group size, you may also have the opportunity to share the banquet table with other diners. Immersing yourself in the Nordic tradition of dining alongside strangers at a banquet table draws inspiration from the 'hygge' spirit, combining the joy of communal feasting with the warmth of human interaction.
Children 10 years and older are welcome at the Viking Yurt. This is a four-hour dinner experience that is geared towards adults both in menu and experience. We also offer alcoholic beverages and will need to seat minors an appropriate distance from the service area to comply with Utah liquor regulations. Please make a note on your reservation if anyone in your party is under 21 years of age.
Alcohol is not included in the price of dinner. The servers will present you with a bill for drink orders at the end of the evening . Please see our Beverage Menu for a full listing of drinks available for purchase at the yurt.
No, but at the end of the evening, the servers will present you with a bill for drink orders, at which point you can include a gratuity.
Absolutely. Guests may bring their own wine and champagne. Personal wine and champagne are subject to a corkage fee of $20/bottle and $30/magnum.
PLEASE NOTE, it is unlawful to bring your own beer or liquor into a restaurant and drinking is not allowed on the sleigh ride.
Please email us at dining@vikingyurt.com or call 435-800-5134 with any changes that you would like to be made to your reservation. Our reservationist will make those changes as soon as possible.
We can happily accommodate dietary request. It is important that your food allergies and preferences be noted on your reservation well in advance of your event date. If you do not specify otherwise before the date of your reservation, the Braised Short Ribs (by far our most popular dish) will be presented as your entree.
You can add dietary requests when you are booking your experience on the reservation page. If you already have a reservation please email us at dining@vikingyurt.com or call 435-800-5134 and we will add the substitutions to your reservation.
Your sleigh ride will be outside in the beautiful Park City snow, followed by dinner in our heated yurt - so dress appropriately in warm winter layers (coat, hat, gloves, boots, etc.) and under that, nice clothes that you will be comfortable in for the rest of your evening. If dressed for the conditions, the sleigh ride up and down is an enjoyable adventure.
Yes, but there is no thermostat. The Yurt is heated with a wood stove. It can be cooled down by opening the outside door. Wearing layers allows you to remove or add articles of clothing so you can remain comfortable.
Yes, but due to our remote location, it is a lovely outhouse. To be sure, it is nicer than the average outhouse, but still an outhouse. We have no running water at the yurt. We do have plenty of hand sanitizer for your convenience.
With pleasure. Let the office know in advance so we can organize it.
This is one of the great challenges and great fun of operating the Yurt. Our kitchen space is limited, so we keep our supplies at one of the Park City Mountain Resort lodges. Every day, your chef transports what is needed for that night’s dinner service to the yurt on a trailer that is pulled behind a snowmobile. The logistics of operating a restaurant in a remote setting are certainly challenging, but you will be amazed at what your chef and servers produce.
Unfortunately, no. Because of our complicated logistics, only the meals that are ordered as of the morning of your reservation are brought up to the yurt.
Our maximum capacity is 40 guests. The sleigh holds 32 people and the cab of the snowcat holds another 8 people. Our business license and our contract with Vail Resorts requires that each person has their own seat, with belt buckled, regardless of age or size.
Due to our limited capacity, short operating season, and waiting list we do not offer a discount for groups or children.
The tables are actually bolted to the floor and are not moveable.
Yes. We highly recommend that you arrive early enough to avail yourself of this modern convenience.
We do not close for inclement weather. However, we make every effort to keep people warm and comfortable on the ride up and back.
